First Nations had a way to hunt and it worked and then the Europeans came with their guns and got the First Nations to use then and did work but then the Europeans would kill all the buffalo. There would be no buffalo left if they kept that up. The First Nations would use everything of the buffalo and the Europeans would kill the buffalo and only use the little line of hide off the top of the buffalo and they used it for fashion that is all they used it for.

The First Nations viewed the buffalo as a sacred thing and had ceremonys befor hunting and after. During the hunt they would only kill what they needed, sometimes 1-2 buffalo and left. The Europeans viwed the buffalo as a new fassion choice, because a stip of hir on their back was very fury, and as such they killed herd after herd of buffalo, taking the one strip of fur from each buffalo, and leaving the rest to raught and decay. Because of this, the First Nations started to lose food, be unable to make shelter, make new clothing, or tools to help them hunt, make food, and any other daily need.

The frist nations only hunted what they needed and used evey part of the buffalo. The europens killed to many and used it for fashion purposes, usualy. The frist nations had to kill the buffalo for food cloths and other things that were useful. The euopeans only used the hide of the buffalo and didn't use anything else usually.

When you look at the worldview of the Europeans and compare it to the First Nation's worldview they differ in many ways. In class we tried to think of words that represented each worldview and we, as a class, came up with some good ones. For the First Nation's worldview, we used the word conserve. Conserve is a good word to use because First Nations only used what they needed from nature. They respected nature and understood that they were only part of nature and not the 'owner' of it. They understood that all the parts of nature were related and that it was a cycle that was very fragile. It showed that they had a very good understanding of nature because they had lived in harmony with the land for thousands of years prior to European contact. The word that best describes the European worldview would be to consume. They saw themselves as the owner of the land and all it's occupants.

How does this relate to the buffalo? Well, I think the pictures we looked at in class show a lot. The first one shows all the uses First Nation's had for the buffalo. They used every part of the buffalo to help them survive; nothing was wasted. In the next picture it shows a huge pile of buffalo skulls. The pile is so high it dwarfs the children playing on it. This shows how the European almost hunted the buffalo to extinction...All for fashion! The Europeans almost anhilated the buffalo in a few short years.

The different World views of hunting is that First nations hunt with there Bowe narrow and Euoropeans use there guns. First nations also use all of the Buffalos parts but the Euoropeans use a little bit and then throw the rest away. The Euoropeans take lots and the First nations take what they need.

I am going to talk to you about the different World views about hunting. The different World views of hunting is that the First nations hunt with there Bowe narrows and the Europeans use there Guns. First nations also use all the parts of the Buffalos but the Europeans use a little bit and throw the rest away. I don't know why they will do tha because you can use the buffalos skin to make Scarf, Sweatters and all the other stuff. The Europeans thake alot and the First nations take what they want.

The different world view of the First Nations hunting buffalo is that they use all parts of the buffalo and they didn't waste any of it. The Western Europeans use only a little bit of it and they throw out the rest like the food. Instead of throwing out the meat you can give it to someone who does need it. The Western Europeans take more then what they needed. The first nations only take what they need.

The world view of First Nations and the Europeans are very different. The world view of hunting is very different. The First Nations shared their food with everyone and they shared the land and they didn't try to own the land. They think before they do something and they try not to make the buffalo go extinct. The First Nations respect Nature and the world that their living in. They only take what they need and they don't waste any. They respect the land. They believe they should not own anything and everything should be shared and the food should not be wasted. This is how the First Nations see there world view. The Europeans have a different way of looking at the land. They believe that they own everything and they should not be sharing. They usually waste their food. They take more then what they needed. They don't really care and they don't see what there doing to the world. This is the world view of the Western Europeans. If you compare both of the world views they both look very different. They both have different world views and they both see the world in different ways.

The First nations used every part of the buffalo. They also only took what they needed. They never took more than what they needed so the buffalo would never die out. They also used all the parts of the buffalo for survival. The buffalo was the main animal they hunted. So they always tryed to be conservative and respectful to the land and the animals.
The Europeans on the other hand hunted more than what they need. They also didn’t use every part of the buffalo. They only used the back strip of the fur for fashion and the were not respectful for the land.

The First Nations believe that the resources should be shared. They only take the resources needed. They think more about the next generation for them to use. They value "tomorrow" than "today". A circle is a shape that would symbolize First Nations culture. They respect the Mother Nature. In hunting buffaloes, they will hold a ceremony and rituals to prepare. They use their techniques and unique skills to hunt buffaloes. First Nations use bows and arrows for hunting. They use every part of the buffalo; basically they don't put it to waste.

In the other hand, Europeans take more resources than they need. They don’t worry about running out of resources because there are still more. They don’t really care about harming the environment. In hunting, they use gun and horses too. Obviously, guns are much easier than bows and arrows. When they have gun, they can just shoot buffalo as many as they want. In the picture that Mr. C showed us; the children playing on the top of buffalo skulls signifies animal exploitation. They seem to be very proud of it. If you think the large amount of those buffalo skulls, how many buffaloes had they killed? Weren't they satisfied? I think that it is more than enough for what they need in able to survive.

First Nations and European are very different. By looking at their perspective and beliefs we can tell that they’re very different in many ways even in hunting buffaloes. Green would be the best colour to represent First Nations. They are eco-friendly. They use the resources wisely. First Nations manage the resources very well.

In the other hand, Europeans take more resources than they need. They don’t worry about running out of resources because there are still more. Black would be the best colour to represent Europeans. They don’t really care about harming the environment. They were polluting the environment by producing contaminated air. In hunting, they use gun and horses too. Obviously, guns are much easier than bows and arrows. When they have gun, they can just shoot buffalo as many as they want. In the picture that Mr. C showed us; the children playing on the top of buffalo skulls signifies animal exploitation. They are being so greedy to the resources. They seem to be very proud of it. If you think the large amount of those buffalo skulls, how many buffaloes had they killed? Weren't they satisfied? I think that it is more than enough for what they need in able to survive.

The two groups have very different views of hunting, and the buffalo that they hunted. The First Nation people literally used all the of the buffalo, every last piece was used ergo consume. However the European did not at all, they would kill a very large amount of buffalo that they did not need at all and just take the fur, not even all the fur usually just the back. One of the biggest reasons they did this was for fashion. They would kill the First Nation’s way of livelihood for fashion ergo conserve. Like we talked about in class the First Nation would prepare for days on these hunts and kill as many buffalo as they needed until the next hunt. Basically they took what was needed and not anymore. But the European on the other hand took an unnecessary amount of the buffalo and wasted most of it. On a different point, the European would use guns, and the First Nations would use bow and arrows, I think there are some up and downs between both the ways of hunting. The Europeans guns would kill instantly and not have the buffalo suffer, but the smoke from the gun pollutes the air. The First Nations bow on the other hand doesn’t pollute, but it can take more than 1 shot to kill the buffalo most times so it would inevitably suffer, which is not all too great for the buffalo. So when it comes down to it the hunting techniques are very different as well as how they would use the buffalo.

There are many differences between the traditional First nations and the traditional Europeans way of hunting .The first nations would always use all parts of the buffalo instead of just using only the hide. The Eastern Europeans would only go for the hide or another part of the buffalo. The first nations would be able to hunt pretty much where ever they please. The Europeans would have hunting grounds or places where they are allowed to hunt on. The Europeans would always consume, consume, consume and the First nations were always about protecting and being conservative about all aspects of hunting. The Europeans would mainly use the hide of the buffalo for fashion purposes like coats and hats etc. The First nations would use every part of the buffalo because they were trying to make sure that there are lots of buffalo’s left for the next generation of their children. The Europeans would do the same with the world’s resources. They think that with growing technology they will never run out and they will have oil, trees, clean water forever and they will never run out. The First nations understand that they will eventually run out of everything. That is why they try to conserve and make sure that everything last for as long as possible.

The worldviews of hunting buffalo's between First Nations and European's are very different. For the European's, it is kind of easy to hunt because they have rifles. Rifles can just kill a buffalo in 1 shot while the First Nations had to use bows and arrows. Bows and arrows are way slower than rifles because it takes 3-4 arrows to kill a buffalo. European's just kept on killing the buffalo's while the First Nations would only take what they needed and used all of it. They used all of it so some of it won't go to waste. European's take more than just needed and they don't even use all of the buffalo's useful items. They used to just take the skin off for fashion which I think is pretty stupid of them. For the First Nations, we use the word "Conserve". This word is used for the First Nations because they only used what they needed for nature and did not waste any of it. The word we use for the European's is "Consume" because they think that they are the owner of the land and have no respect for it. The European's killed many buffalo's and almost made them extinct! They used none, and I mean none, of it for food. Basically they just took away the First Nation's food. There is way less buffalo's left compared to how many buffalo's there were before. In that one picture we saw in class that had a bunch of buffalo skulls, that shows that European's did not care about the buffalo's. It looked like there were 1000 or even more skulls. These are the worldviews of hunting buffalo between the First Nations and the European's.

The First Nation's used every part of the buffalo, for food, weapons, Tools, Tipi's and weapons. The First Nations were also very good hunters with bows and sneaking up on the buffalo. The First Nations were never just in one place they moved around all of Canada and the United States. When it got to cold they would carry there light weight houses (tipis) and move around for when it got to cold and to follow the buffalo.

The Europeans only used the buffalo for food, They almost made the Canadian buffalo extinct in their first few years of hunting. The Europeans were greedy, all they wanted was land. The First nations wanted to share the land because they are never in the same place they are always moving. I believe that is why they signed the treaty’s

The First Nations people conserve the buffalo. There respectful to nature. They share and only kill what they need. The European people consume the buffalo. They’re very greedy. They take what they want not what they need. When I think of First Nations people I think of a circle because the medicine wheel is a circle. When I think of European people I think of stairs because it's like the animals or on the bottom and the Europeans are on top. When I think of First Nations people I also think of the colour green because nature has a lot of green in it and the First Nations people respect nature. When I think of European people I think of the colour black because black is a bad colour and the Europeans are bad with nature.

The First Nations world view is not even close to the same as European. The First Nations believe that if you take something as you're own you can use it in every single way. You do not waste anything and every aprt of land is interconncted just as a circle. If they take something from nature they will use the buffalo to eat, it's hide for a blanket or rug and the bones as wepons. The First Nations have a way better perspective of land over the Europeans. Another thing First Nations world view they know the land can not be owned by humans. They also used the buffalo for a reason not just to kill them for fun and not use it everyway they could. Also the First Nations use as much as they need and nothing more they do not waste anything that's why their way of living is a great way of living.

The European do not have the minds of First Nations in any way. Every little perspective of their world view is different in many ways. So the European take as much as they think they need and they take to much and waste a lot of everything. They think the land can be owned so they wreak the world by not taking care of it and not respecting it. They are not respecting it because if they we're to kill human nature they would want to do it right and not waste. They probably don't think about how much they are doing wrong to the land and world. After the European hunted they almost hunted them out until there was nothing left. That's why the European's don't have such good living habits as First Nations.

I think the world view changed the perspectives of hunting a lot because when the Aboriginal people hunted they would only kill some buffalo and not a lot. Most of the time they would only kill as much as they needed not wanted and they used all of the buffalo. When some of the European’s hunted buffalo they used hurtful weapons such as guns, and they didn’t use all of the buffalo just a strip of the fur on top of their backs. Instead of using a little part of the buffalo the European’s could have used the strip of fur on top of the buffalo’s back and the Aboriginal people could have used the rest. It didn’t seem like the European’s wanted to share very much with the Aboriginal people and so they had different perspectives on hunting because the European’s took as much buffalo as they wanted not needed.
The European’s world view perspective is more selfish and more self centered and the Aboriginal world view perspective of land is more generous and giving .I think this about the European’s perspective of land because they think they need a lot of things for themselves and as much as they want. So they take more things then they need and only use a little bit, but throw the rest away. They are very selfish with resources and decide who gets what in the world even though we belong to the world and the world doesn’t belong to us. Sometimes European’s even value money over friendship because they think it’s better than having a relationship with people
The Aboriginal perspective of land is more generous and giving because they think land should be shared and not owned. They believe that everything is interconnected like a circle and that nobody is better than one another. They also think that we should only take as much as we need and not want because we shouldn’t be wasting resources. I think that the Aboriginal people care more about the world then the European people they treat the world more respectful.

The Europeans took more than what they needed .The Frist nations used all the parts of the buffalo and to make stuff from it. The Europeans wasted some parts of the buffalo.Eurpean people used horses and guns back then the first nations used horses’ bows.
